Jesus Trashes 1914 in ONE Sentence!
by Farkel init only takes one short sentence from the bible to thoroughly demolish the watchtower religion and the doctrine they claim is their most important one.
this sentence is so crystal clear that there is no way the wts can weasal out of it.
that's why they don't even try.. although their real most important doctrine is that the governing body speaks for god, their claimed most important doctrine begins with the notion that jesus took kingdom power and began reigning in 1914. if that doctrine can be shown to be false, the entire watchtower theology scam crumbles into the trash heap where it belongs.

Sorry, I guess that's what you are saying in your post too. I just never thought of it that way before and it bugs me that I didn't.

Farkel: Another obvious flaw in their doctrine that for some reason I never noticed until I left is this:
The WTBTS teaches that Christ will rule for a thousand years. They also teach that he began his rule in 1914. Yet they teach the thousand year reign hasn't started yet. How did we miss that? It's so obvious!

Even when you think you're out, you're not...
by undercover insometimes we debate about which is better - to fade...or to da/get dfd.. there are pros and cons to each method.
faders like to say that they're not playing by the rules and can still associate with family.
daers say that they are totally free and can speak their mind and celebrate their holidays as they see fit with absolutely no retributinos.. i see the advantages of both sides and understand why one chooses one path over another.

You are out when you are out in your own mind, not when you are out of their files.
The information they hold in their files is only embarrassing if you are embarrassed. What can they know about you? What can they say about you?You masturbated or fornicated with someone? So what. Welcome to the masturbating, fornicating human race. You and 7 billion other people.

Good point SBC:
If you witness a planchette on a ouija board move with someone's hand on it, the reasonable explanation is that the person moved it. If you witness a planchette on a ouija board move with no one's hand on it, then you have an unexplained event.
How does it immediately follow that a demon must have done it? There could be thousands of hypotheses out there that are more reasonable/likely than this. There is no basis for jumping to the conclusion that it moved due to demon influence, other than that is the story we have all been told.

My perception of posters
by Lady Lee inearlier today i made a comment on a thread about how i perceive a poster.. my perception is mine and mine alone.
i am responsible for it.
how i perceive what someone posts to me is also my responsibility.. if i have a run-in with someone on the board there is a good chance the next time i see that person post something i don't like i will add my past perception to their post.. for example: let's say poster xyzzz told me off.

To take that thought to another level, even when we are attacking the "person" or the "personality", it could be argued that we are still only attacking a viewpoint. The ego identity, or "personality" if you will is the viewpoint or story about ourselves that we choose to present to the world. It may seem entrenched, it mays seem to be "who" we are, but in fact we often do change our roles and personalities in different circumstances. If we change our viewpoint on something, have we changed our personality? Have we changed who we are as a person?
Some would argue yes, some would argue no. As an example, suppose I tell someone on this board that they are being an arrogant prick and to stop it. Assume 99% of other posters agree this person is being an arrogant prick and this is not a figment of my judgemental imagination. (A big assumption, I know). Technically, I'm breaking board guidelines and attacking the "person" and name calling, even though my names may be an accurate description of how that "person" is manifesting themselves at that moment.
However, if it causes that poster to then look at themselves, challenge their own perceptions and make changes to how they are manifesting their "personhood" to others, than is it such a bad thing I've done by calling them a name?

Thank you Poppers. You succinctly summed up exactly what I was trying to say in my rather long-winded post.
In my observation, most cannot make any distinction between attacking the viewpoint and attacking the individual.

I find it interesting, that supposed spirit creatures, have social strata, somewhat like humans. This alone tells you the stories about them are a human construct. Why on earth should there be higher and lower orders of spirit creatures, just because humans have created such concepts?
It reminds me of the Hindu caste system and how the Hindu concepts of the afterlife also carry all these social levels of rebirth that one may attain to.
